“Verplanck Colvin of Albany was among guests at the North River Hotel on Saturday,” The Morning Star of Glens Falls reported on July 20, 1895.

- “A garnet mine has been discovered near North Creek, on a tract of land purchased some time ago by the honorable George West of Ballston Spa for pulp wood,” The Granville Sentinel reported on April 17. “Work has begun in the mine, Mr. West receiving $10 a ton (the equivalent of $345.93 in 2024 dollars) royalty on all the mineral taken out.”

- “A new telephone line has been put up between here and Newcomb,” the North Creek correspondent reported in The Morning Star on July 27.
- “The agent and company of men of the Home Comfort Cooking Stove are making their headquarters at A. Bump’s while they are canvassing the surrounding towns,” the Riparius correspondent reported in The Morning Star on July 13.
- “A stock of cigars and candy has been put in the post office store,” the Riparius correspondent reported in The Morning Star on July 20.
- “Simeon Town has finished his haying and reports a good crop,” the North River correspondent reported in The Morning Star on July 27.
- “George Galutia has rented the Glens Falls & North Creek Stage route of Charles Eldridge. He leaves on Monday and Friday. Mr. Eldridge is driving the baggage wagon for the Adirondack Stage Company,” the North Creek correspondent reported in The Morning Star on Aug. 3.
- William E. Sheehan was appointed postmaster at North Creek, The Morning Star reported on Aug. 8.
- “The North River Hotel has a number of transient guests bound for Blue Mountain Lake and other adjoining towns,” the North River correspondent reported in The Morning Star on Aug. 10.
- “Thirty-five men are employed at Hooper’s garnet mine,” the North River correspondent reported on Aug. 26.
- “Colonel and Mrs. S. V. R. Cruger and Julian Gordon, a well-known authoress of New York, are guests at the North River Hotel for a few days.
- “John Wade of North Creek runs a meat wagon twice a week to this place and once a week to Indian Lake,” the North River correspondent reported. “Mr. Wade also carries fruits and groceries of all kinds.”
