Century-old Ti — Miss Alden buys a Stutz
This is the latest in a series of posts about news reported a century ago in the Ticonderoga Sentinel.
Miss Alden of Hague was the first purchaser of a Stutz “beautiful five-passenger” sports car in the Ticonderoga area, the Ticonderoga Sentinel reported on Aug. 5, 1920.
Ticonderoga car dealer H.F. Huestis added the Stutz to his line of franchises, which already included Hudson, Chandler, Cleveland and Chevrolet.
The Stutz, a high-end sports car, was manufactured at Indianapolis, Indiana from 1911 to 1935.
Frank Delano, another car dealer, brought three Fords to demonstrate at Graphite, and sold one to Thomas Ryan.
“Now the whole neighborhood expects a ride.”
Lee Smith of Graphite bought a used Paige luxury car from R. J. Bolton.
