This is the latest in an occasional series of posts about the daughters of Samuel Pruyn and their families that lived in the three houses that now are the campus of The Hyde Collection art museum in Glens Falls.

Thirty-five elementary students of Glens Falls Academy were set to perform the operetta “Little Boy Blue” the following Monday on the lawn behind Hoopes House, The Post-Star reported on June 19, 1920

“The children participating in the event range in age from five to twelve years old, but a number of other pupils will assist in the performance,” The Post-Star reported. “The children have been trained under the direction of Misses E. Mildred Hughes and Elizabeth Howard. Admission will be by invitation.”

In other historic Combined Families news:

The Post-Star on July 8, 1920 reported that Charlotte Hyde attended the Washington County League of Women Voters convention in Hudson Falls.

The Post-Star on Aug. 14, 1920 reported that Louis Hyde, vice president of the Scout Council, visited Camp Wakpominee.

The Post-Star on Aug. 20, 1920 reported that the Glens Falls Country Club appointed Maurice Hoopes to the Greens Committee and Louis Hyde to the Finance Committee. Mary Hoopes was appointed to the Auxiliary Board.
