Arthur P. Irving, long-time publisher of The Post-Star and Glens Falls Times, had a volunteer sideline as editor of The K. of C. Herald, the newspaper of Glens Falls Knights of Columbus Council 194, which published its first issue in March 1923.

Charles C. McLaughlin and Thomas R. Donnelly were associate editors.

“The publication is made up in regular newspaper style and in its editorial and news columns are to be found a wealth of items of interest to the Knights and their friends,” The Post-Star reported on March 17, 1923.

Dr. John G. Coyle, Knights of Columbus state deputy, wrote the feature article in the debut issue, published March 16.

“In the article Dr. Coyle reviews the work of the Knights of Columbus and tells of the high ideals and purposes for which the order stands. Dr. Coyle conveys to members of the Glens Falls council his hearty good wishes for success in their every undertaking.”

Other content included articles by council Grand Knight George F. Bayle, council Chaplain the Rev. Arthur Dandeneau and building committee Chairman F.P. Moneghan.
