Glens Falls in 1946 — Local 773 celebrates
More than 100 people attended the United Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 773 annual banquet Jan. 31, 1946 at Fitzgerald’s Restaurant on Glen Street in Glens Falls.
Keynote speaker William Rozell of Glens Falls, regional business manager for the building and construction trades, praised the 27-year-old local for its “no-strike” record, and for the local’s role in establishing a building and construction trades apprenticeship program.
Members of the local voted to establish a union auxiliary.
Don Curtis and his orchestra performed music for dancing.
