Nancy Knight, formerly of Glens Falls, appeared in “one of the important supporting roles” on “Blind Tiger,” the Dec. 31, 1969 episode of the popular crime drama “Hawaii Five-O.”

Marion Ross, later of “Happy Days” also had a guest role in the episode of the show’s second season.

Knight, whose maiden name was Nancy Allen, regularly acted with a community theatre group in Honolulu at the time and was studying for her PhD at University of Hawaii, The Post-Star reported.

She was the wife of John Knight, a dentist in Honolulu.

Allen, who grew up on Sanford Street in Glens Falls, was the daughter of Sherwood Allen, a shop teacher at Glens Falls High School.

The 1945 graduate got her start in acting at Glens Falls High School.

Her senior year she had roles as Katherine the Shrew in Charles George’s comedy “When Shakespeare’s Ladies Meet,” and as Miss March in “Little Women.”

She performed the monologue “A Hand Bag” at the senior recital.

In her junior year she performed the humorous narrative “The Three Bears” by Newell H. Long at the high school band concert.

Her sophomore year she was a contestant on the WGY of Schenectady quiz show “The Little Red School House.”

Allen was a liberal arts major at Cornell University.

Her junior year she received a scholarship to study ”The Tradition of European Civilization,” including Scottish history, for six weeks at St. Andrews University in Scotland.
