E-PAC, the political action committee of U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-Schuylerville, raised nearly $30,000 in the first two months of 2021, as the congresswoman took a leading role in House special election campaigns.

E-PAC contributed $15,000 to the successful March 20 campaign of Republican Julia Letlow in Louisiana’s 5th congressional district, by far the largest of any contributions from House members PACs or campaign funds, according finance reports E-PAC and the Letlow campaign filed with the Federal Election Commission.

Now, E-PAC has endorsed and pledged to help raise funds for Susan Wright, a Republican candidate in the Texas 6th Congressional District special election.

Susan Wright, a Republican activist, is the widow of former Rep. Ron Wright, who died in February, prompting a crowded field of candidates to replace him.

Twenty-three candidates filed paperwork to run in the special election — 11 Republicans, 10 Democrats, one Libertarian and one independent.

E-PAC reported $29,792 in contributions in January and February, of which $16,502 was in un-itemized “small dollar” contributions of less that $200 each.

E-PAC had operating expenses of $23,244 over the two months, and contributed $15,000 to Letlow’s special election campaign.

E-PAC had a balance of $277,447 in its PAC fund, as of Feb. 28.

E-PAC is separate from Stefanik’s congressional campaign fund.
